Playsafe Playgrounds Ltd were given the contract to deliver this fantastic Play Area for the Big Parks Project Peacehaven. The Robinia Timber was supplied by the Dylan Group for the project, with the project management, fabrication, construction and installation carried out Playsafe Playgrounds management and installation teams.
The Big Parks Project Board comprised of Lewes District Council, Peacehaven Town Council, East Sussex County Council, REGEN – Peacehaven & Telscombe Regeneration Partnership and Peacehaven Community School make key decisions for the project, the day to day project management is carried out by Lewes District Council Financial contribu tions from Southern Water and two Bovis housing developments have provided £2 million for outdoor recreation and leisure facilities in Peacehaven.
Following an extensive public consultation in 2011, a Masterplan has been drawn up for the Park by landscape architects Allen Scott Ltd and architects Kaner Olette. The plan includes improved sports facilities, a central activity hub with cafe, and open space and recreation areas suitable for all sections of the community.
The park is of significant archaeological interest and is part of the largest area of archaeological investigation in the South of England. Additionally the park adjoins the South Downs National Park and will provide a gateway to exploring the wider countryside
